Yoga Therapy for Perimenopause

Is it just a buzzword, or are we all cycle-synching in the form of Perimenopause? Every single week in my Yoga Therapy meetings I'm hearing about clients dealing with perimenopause, and I'm seeing it all over the internet, too.


You’re already stressed and worked to the bone, you’re worried about all the things, you're trying to show up in your social circles, you're cooking dinner while exhausted. You’ve seen the posts telling you that you must prioritize rest, but that just stresses you out more because how on earth can you find the time or peace? Now you’ve got random aches and swelling, more migraines, you’re feeling more emotional, you’ve got hot flashes and cold sweats, and to top it off you can’t sleep.


Stress hormones are coursing through your body, and you’re depleted of everything else. You find yourself anxious for no reason (hello again hormone fluctuations), and you have real anxiety because you feel like something is wrong but can’t pinpoint anything.


Unfortunately, unless you want to trial and error HRT, there isn’t a whole lot doctors can do to “fix” this because we aren’t men with erectile dysfunction, so studies are far behind.

What’s a girl to do?
